Holidays are hard work

Damn!

Got back on Sunday night from what were probably some of the most intense few weeks of my life.

I can by no means explain everything that has happened to me over the last 16 days, but suffice to say, buy me a beer one time and I will talk for two hours about messed up situation after messed up situation.

Highlights include:

- Moose on the road. When I’m doing 200+. Interesting way to test an Audi ABS system.
- Trying to get a Russian Visa in 2 hours while being so drunk I can barely stand (they must’ve thought I’d fit right in) with not a single correct document at my disposal (I’m Danish apparently), no passport photo and a means of payment which was 5 blocks running (and one puking session) away.
- Being woken up 8 times on a 7 hour train ride by 2 sets of customs officers, 2 sets of ticket checkers and one fuckhead wanting to exchange rubels.
- Sauna parties. All naked of course. And mixed. I like Finland.
- Nature. Real nature. Haven’t seen that for a while.
- Ballet. Russian ballet. Really have not been to that in a while but almost as beautiful.
- Hermitage. It rules, go there.
- After empirical research: Fisherman’s shots mixed with Moet + Absinthe = dangerous combo.
- Met old friends from Brussels there. Kari, Tuukka and Johanna. Thanks guys for being there and the good talks.
- Learning how to play flunkie ball, the only real drinking team sport. And getting some English mates to join in.
- Dressing even worse than I normally do at a 70s party at the English embassy. Sweet.

And tons of other crap I’ve pulled but which I cannot mention here. Pics to follow.

It was cool. 8 countries in 14 days. Recommendable.

Holiday update

Few updates :

Lapland is nice. Reindeers taste good. Helsinki is a good party city. A Kia Rio is a shit rental and a Audi A4 Quattro is a good rental. Wid water rafting is fun, kayaking is better and mountainbiking on some godforsaken cross country ski paths 300km above the polar circle in the pissing rain is best. Even though the lack of rear suspension means my ass hurts as I've been initiated by Bubba on my first day of prision in Alabama.

To to Barentz sea and Stockholm next!

Suomi!

Only a few hours to go untill I officially go on a real holiday for the first time in 14 months. And contrary to most people, I prefer to go north when I celebrate. In fact, I hope it'll snow during tomorrow's beach party!

Can you tell I am looking forward to it? The alcohol is packed, the 70s style porn Ray-Bans are resting on my nose (just to blend in up north) and the next 2 weeks are packed solid with my never changing conquest to look stupid in every single country this planet has to offer. Of the 4 countries I will visit, 3 have already been conquered, but Russia has not seen the likes of me yet so a warning to people of St. Petersburg :

WATCH OUT!

Marlboro man

I was actually quite looking forward to a relatively quiet weekend. Hanging out with some old friends, doing some usefull stuff and just basically charge my battery for the upcoming holiday which will cost me years of my life (hopefully).

Then around lunch time I get a call from a mate. "Man, do you want to come to Zandvoort with us. The Marlboro Masters (one of the world's biggest race events) is on and we're going to be there all weekend."

Lemme see. Do usefull shit at home or go away to the races.

Home :
- Less stress later
- Get to sleep more
- Do some work
- Go shopping for a new camera and cloths

Races :
- 500 meters from beach
- Packed with cute grid girls
- Drink beer
- Listen to nice engines being spanked to within an inch of their life

Take a wild guess as to what I will do. Happy Friday!

Bruxelles 2006 (Part 2)

Just had a lovely weekend in Brussels again.

First off, thanks to Klaudiusz who proved himself a great host, cooking Polish food 3 days in a row. Good for going drinking on. The dude has been busy the last few months. Buying a house, getting engaged and a new job. Still had time to go and get wasted with me. Good man!

I went down to go and visit some old Aiesec buddies, who were throwing a party in the MC office. It was very cool to see some old mates: Kevin, Jan, Tanja, Vija, Ola, Roxie, Osku, Simone, Boban, Tijs, Wouter etc. My highlight of the evening was downing the tequila bottle I brought along in 1 minute. I had *some* help though. My guttoral scream " whooooohahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa" was the final straw and the neighbours were bitching like only people who haven't gotten laid in 12 years can and we had to move the party just up the road. To a very cheap bar :-)

I can honestly say : playing table football while barely being able to stand upright and still winning is a good feeling! And Carol, you're still a light little number. I don't believe the bad girl stories though!

Saturday was a strange and wonderfull day. I woke up with a giant hang-over. (Damn you tequila!) and got my ass to town. For about 5 secs. because then Osku offered for me to come over so he could cook for me. Praise the Lord for mates like that!So the man (and his Mrs.) made me a wonderfully fresh salad, fresh coffee from coffee beans which he himself ground (sp.?) and mint thee.

And I was introduced to Paula. A girl I immidiately took a liking too. Maybe it was because she was totally unashamed to discuss every single subject. A female version of me, nice!It was then no surprise that I proposed to her only an hour later, after Simone broke off the engagement of Osku and I. A shame but ever though I love him and and his cooking, his tits were too small anyway. So no big loss and Paula was a much better choice.

She could be bought with champagne she said, so we proceeded down to place Sablon to have some mid-afternoon drinks. Some alcoholic refreshments later I left the Finnish crowd to go and have a nice Polish dinner. Zubrowka being about 90% of it. Dziekuje!

Evening was spend with the Poles and the Finns in a bourbon street type estabishment in a small square behind the joke of a Brussels stock exchange. Mappa Mundo. During the evening girls with knives, shagging in sauna's and enjoying life were the main topics.

Surprisingly, I was up at 9am on Sunday, and spend the morning talking about life, love, women and money with my host. A few hours later I went to visit my birthday mate and have some lunch in the palce with THE worst service in Brussels : Arcadi. Tons of fun was had, espcially because I was quite busy laughing at my talking partner because she was informed that she left a borrowed lap top in an open window sill. And it was raining. Heavily. Ouch!

Luckily for her the thing still worked though. ;-)

Anyway, a nice and alcoholic WE, topped off by picking up my BMW from the garage yesterday after receiving the mother of all services. It's bloody great!

Next WE : playing with car and meeting up with the only Spanish girl who can see eye to eye with me. Literally.
